Why do people come to America?
Um... that's a very good question, why do people come to America?
Well People come to America for a few reasons, two of these resons is economic and educational opportunity. The new comers believe they can get a better education for their children in the United States of America. Many escape and came to the new land because of religious persecution. Some call this push and pull factors! However, when these eager new comers get to the new land, they were very surprised to see the streets weren't really paved with gold. They arrived at Ellis Island and had to undergo riggorous blood testing to make sure that they were healthy enought to begin their new life in America. After they get used to the new environment, they began to see the many hardships in America. They lived in small cramped tennament homes with small childern and many unwelcome guests (roches, rats, flies, ect.) .They worked long hard hours in factories, or picking cotton with little pay and at times had little to eat. Besides the hardship, the immigrants did help our country in many ways and made the golden land more diverse.
