Welcome!

Hey,"Lets Be Friends" is done by two student's, Nashwah and Tyeisha, in the eight grade humanities year, at University Neighborhood Middle school! It has been a great year for both Nashwah and Tyeisha although at times Mr. Locker has been hard on them. They even at times wanted to tell him a thing or two, but have learned it was done in their best interest. Pushing them to their true level has really given them the strength and courage they have today. As you read and hopefully enjoy their blog, you'll see how they have grown in humanities this year!!

ENJOY!!

The writing life of Tyeisha Kearsley

I never use to write because I never knew what to write about, until my Communication Arts teacher Ms.Shah told me to write what was in my head, and so I did it. At first it didn't make sence what I was writting, but she said that it was okay, it was just a free write. Everytime I write free writes, I got a little better at writing all together. Now that I know how to write a little, I just love to do it. Now that I love to write, I write poems all the time and I am really good at it too. Sometimes when I write poems, I don't think that they are good, but when I let poeple read them, they say that it is very good. When poeple tell me that I am a good writer and that my poems are very good, I just want to write more. When I get stuck and don't know what to write about,so I read other poeple poems it give me ideas to write about, then I would
know what to write about. I will now take my newly acquired writing skills to high school and see how far it will take me from there.
Also so other ways I leaned how to is,if I am writting from a passage and I don't know know a way to write it Mr.Locker thought me how to chunck.Chuncking is when I am writting from a passage all I have to do is stop at the end of the a paragraph take out the main idea and put it in your own words so I can understand it better then the way it was before. So the next time you read the passage I will understand it better than I did the first time.So I will also take this to high school and see how far it will take as well.
